Paypal prepaid - The worst prepaid system of all time

I'll just say it right up front, I'm extremely angry.  I received my paypal debit in the mail yesterday.  I activated/registered the card on the prepaid website.  I also created a paypal account. I needed to make an emergency purchase online last night, because I need it by friday of this week.  So I go to the gas station and buy a greendot moneypak becuase it says it works with paypal and it has the netspend logo.  I then load it with the max of $500.  So I get home, and I try adding the moneypak to my debit card, and it says "We do not recognize the account number" or something along those lines.  Obviously I double and triple checked to make sure the numbers were correct, of course they were.  So then I tried registering for online access.  It takes me to the activation screen, and makes me activate the card again.  I do that, and then it asks me to login with my paypal account.  I enter my info, and the login appears to be successful (says verifying information), but then takes me to a screen that says "We've encountered an error, we're unable to log you in at this time", and gives me a link that takes me back to the activation screen to restart the process.  I've tried this at least 10-15 times already.  It's definitely not an error on my end, my information in the database might be screwed up.

 

Since, my paypal.com acccount creation was successful, and i was able to link my card on the paypal.com website (not the prepaid website) I thought they were linked. So based off that I loaded the $500 moneypak onto my paypal account.  Great, I now have $500 on my paypal account that I can't use.  I'm 21 years old, living on my own, and going to college. $500 is a lot of money for a college student who's on his own.  The only reason I bought the reload pack is because I thought I'd be able to load my card and make the purchases instantly like every other prepaid card.  I'm so beyond frustrated, and I'm sure many of you would feel the exact same way if $500 of your money was tied up because paypal's prepaid service refuses to work for me.  This was not only my money for my purchase, but this was my food/gas money for the week too. What do you expect me to do now paypal?  No skin off your corporations' back if I don't eat or make it to school this week, right?

 

I've called customer service 2 times, and sent an E-mail, and it was absolutely zero help.  I've honestly never seen something that should be so simple, become so complicated.  This will be the first and last time I use paypal's prepaid service, if this is not settled immediately.   I don't have time to wait 3+ business days for a bank transfer or 1-2 weeks for a check.  ALL I WANT is for the money on my paypal account to be on my debit card, I'm truly not asking for much. I buy prepaid cards all the time, and this has never been an issue.  I'm at the end of my rope, and I'm not sure where to turn. Customer support claimed they would contact the IT department for me, but that still remains to be seen.  Normally I'm not this irate but this is so ridiculous and no one has an answer for me...  Just fix my account or your database and let me use my money, that's all I want.  I don't want free money, or compensation, or free handouts, I just want to be able to use the money I paid $5 to use.

I too am fed up with paypal and their unamerican employees who could care less about you or me. been with paypal for 3 months but having trouble for last 9 weeks just trying to link prepaid debit mastercard to paypal funds. i've called paypal, paypal prepaid, netspend, ebay, and bankcorp, only to be transfered, put on hold for hours on end, told im wrong, called a liar, hung up on. had at least 9  3-way calls with ebay and paypal, spent hours and hours on phone, they added bank accounts, new email addresses, new passwords, deleted bank accounts, then  transfered me again only to be put on hold for 29 mins. All im trying to do is use my mastercard to mail my sales. this is my right! Its my money, yesterday paypal again added bank account, transfered my funds around again and i still can't link card to bank. spent more hours on phone, to be put on hold again for 20 mins, then transfered again to netspend. how can this billion dollar company treat their bread and butter like **bleep**?? why won't they answer phones?? why can't they speak english so you can understand what the hell they are saying?? why do employees read off cue cards??  they talk over you without listening to the problem, then keep talking. im feed up with this, their fees, their third world employees, and even their answer center, which is useless. why can't paypal, paypal prepaid, netspend, and ebay all get on the same page?? why can't i link mastercard to paypal after 9 weeks??
