I have been trying to close my account for ages, since I don't live in the US anymore. But, alas, it won't let me because I have to provide information that I don't have anymore BECAUSE I DON'T LIVE THERE NOW. Catch 22, right? Now, the latest: I am trying to log on to, once again, try to close the account once and for all, but, surprise! It asks me for a verification code that can only be sent by text message to a number that, OF COURSE, I DON'T HAVE ANYMORE. Really? This is a nightmare, Paypal. And actually, let me tell you, Paypal Spain works so much better than Paypal US. FUNNY.

Paypal is country specific so if you move country you have to open another paypal account in that country and add an address / phone number / and bank accounts from within that country.
The idea is that you close your old paypal account withdrawing all funds first and removing the financial info ie cards and bank accounts BEFORE you move abroad.

I did not move abroad, I returned home. I do have a Paypal account in my country, have for years and it works great: it's Paypal US that **bleep** me off. I could not have possibly closed the US account before because I didn't know that I wasn't returning for good. So, what do you mean, I can't close it because I am not there? Please... Give me a solution.

You think I did not? Why would I be so upset if I hadn't tried that at least 10 times and hadn't got any solutions? I am sick of Paypal US. And ha! Now, even if I wanted to contact Costumer Services, I wouldn't be able to because, to log in, I need a verification code that has been sent to a phone number that I don't have anymore. THIS IS GREAT!!!!!!

You don't have to be quite so rude to someone giving up their time to try and help you.
I am not telepathic and have no idea how many times you have contacted customer services and what options you used so why not say so?

Rude? Really? It's just common sense. Who would post something on this board before contacting Customer Service a number of times and not being helped? Rude all right.

Most of the people that post on here and are not sure how to contact customer services.
But i was waiting to give you other options when you replied with the ways you had tried.
But don't worry you won't get any response from me in the future to any other threads you start.
