My iphone needs repairs, but i urgently need to send some money to a friend that is locked down because of Corona Virus and needs a little money to eat and feed her child. But desktop Paypal keeps insisting on sending the authorization code to my dead phone.

what can I do???

Hi @BrettOB ,

Welcome to the PayPal community and thank you for your post.

As your question is very account specific, I would advise you to contact our customer care department who can help you further. You can do this by clicking on the Help and Contact link at the bottom of every PayPal page to check what your contact options are. You'll need to contact customer service in order to deactivate the security key.

Hope this helps. Stay safe!

I understand the urgency of your situation except that I'm unsure about your cellphone situation. If you have access to your Sim, it's possible that you can insert it into another iPhone just to get your code. When you get into your account remove your mobile number and replace it with a home number. Do not allow sms or text. This should allow you to access your account without the need for sms.

The only other option is to speak with a teammate but I don't know how easy it is to get in touch with one at this time.

I hope this works

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
