I have been a member of PayPal since 2001 without any problems. After 17 years, I get a request to verify my information by sending personal documents such as a government issued photo id, utility bill, social security card photo. Is this a scam? Has anyone in the community had to do this? What is this for? Thanks for any help

We are constantly being warned about requests for too much personal information. Although this request seems to be legitimate, I find your request for such personal information to be invasive and suspect. Please confirm the legitimacy of your request and, if possible the reason for this information from a customer who has been with you for years with a credit rating around 820!
Respectfully,
