I have a 3rd party developing my Web site for me. They need my PalPal ID. What sort of security risks are there in providing it? Will the developer be able to access my bank information or take any of the payments that I receive? Is there anything else that I should be concerned about? I have some programming experience and could probably figure out how to integrate my code (the developer provided me with the code), but this would be easier for me. I have no reason to distrust my developer, but it is an outsourced firm, so I just want to protect myself.

Actually, Paypal has an answer for that. If you click on "Profile" on the summary page you will see the "Secure Merchant Account ID".
Paypal recommends using this ID in place of the email ID for any integrated coding that refers to your account.

I have the same situation as TrueBlood. However I'm not finding the" Secure Merchant Account ID" under profile. Am i misunderstanding or is it in another place.
Thanks,
Robert
