When will Paypal start supporting the W3C WEBAUTHN/FIDO2 standard and allow the use of security tokens for authentication?
Or at a minimum, can we please get support for U2F for second factor authentication instead of the Symantec proprietary security token technology?
Users are tired of passwords and the technology to be done with them forever is now widely and inexpensively available with growing widespread interoperability. As more and more sites and services add support for these standards and associated protocols, it is unacceptable that one of the largest online financial providers does not support these enhanced standardized security standards.
