First of all, I sell online games on a private website. It is a marketplace for online game accounts. So this buyer contacted me and said he wants to avail the online game account that I have posted for sale. We had a bit of discussion on how we will proceed with the transaction because we can avail a middleman for a cheap price, but he decided to trust me and we ended up having to transact without a middleman. So he proceeds to send the money on my Paypal and after I received the money, I immediately sent him all the details he needed in order for him to change the account details to his liking. The money he sent was put on hold so I waited at least 48 hours and I kept on checking if the money went in already, and then we both realized that he still needs to confirm it so that Paypal will release it from the hold. So after he confirmed it, I got the money right away. In short, I gave him the account he bought on April 24, 2021 and I received his payment on April 27, 2021. So fast forward to May 24, 2021(exactly 1 month after the said transaction) Paypal pinged me about an Unauthorized transaction. It says that the Buyer reported that someone made the order without his permission. So I tried contacting the buyer that day but to my surprise, he deleted all his messages to me and blocked me(Fortunately, I always take screenshots of my successful transactions so I have proof of payments to show the next buyers. I was thinking maybe I can use these screenshots to counter that dispute somehow) Now, how come that was considered an "Unauthorized transaction" when the buyer willingly paid the money for the product that I'm selling? Why was he even on that private marketplace website if he is not the one buying and using his PayPal account? The next day, I replied to that dispute ticket the buyer opened and sent PayPal all the screenshots as proof that the buyer and I had a legitimate conversation/transaction. It shows that he bought something from me and he received it even tho it's a digital product and he's been using the account for 1 month already. Then Paypal said that my input is being reviewed at the moment so I've waited for 3 days until today and then to my surprise, PayPal honored a refund to the buyer even tho I sent them multiple screenshots about the legitimate transaction. Are you telling me anyone can use Paypal to buy something online and the buyer can just issue a false dispute any time and get his/her money back even if the seller provided solid proof?
