We had a customer who purchased a TMC Vecton 600 UV Sterilizer, which we test each one prior to shipping and which in selling 1000s dating back to the 1980s have not had defects or returns of a single one.
This customer could not figure out how to install, which we tried to help with, but in the end we offered for him to simply return for a refund.
Instead he filed a claim while opening admitting by email that he intended to keep the product and paid a professional $50 to install it.
PayPal allowed for this claim to go through and refunded this customer approximately $200 even though the customer refused to return it.
This would be like going to a local plumbing supply and purchasing a water heater and not knowing how to install and then hiring a plumber to install, then filing a charge back and getting a free water heater. This is EXACTLY the fraud PayPal participated in
