About 4 hours ago I received an email from PayPal thanking me for adding my phone number.
I did not add this number. I do recognize it. I haven't had that number for years. I have only one phone, with one phone number. The system currently does not allow you to remove a phone number unless you have more than two numbers listed.
So: Why was a second number added automatically, without my consent, and without verifying that the number is correct? And why the [Removed] am I not allowed to remove a phone number that I know for a fact *is not my number*?
And most importantly, who can I contact (and how) in order to get this corrected (that is, to remove the number that is not correct)?

Same here - an old mobile number that I haven't used in 8+ years was added as a Primary Home number, and as stated before the system won't let me remove it, even though my current mobile number is listed as a primary number. Please fix!

Phone call to customer service was able to resolve this issue for me in under 10 minutes (that's even including wait times on hold).
Of course, it never should have been necessary in the first place. Whoever (or whatever automated computer system) added that phone number to my account should never have been able to add the number in the first place. And in this day and age, where *most people* only have one phone (their mobile), it should not be made impossible for us to remove a phone number without first having 3+ numbers on the account. Seriously, whoever at the company decided that this was a good idea is absolutely wrong. This never should have been an issue.
Anyway, if you also have had this issue, then call customer service at your earliest convenience to have a live person take care of it.
