I would like a separate PayPal account to be accountable when collecting and spending funds for a group of 8. Do I use personal or business? We are NOT non-profit or a business, nor an organized club. We individually contribute funds to a "kitty" to be used for birth, death, or other needs in one of our families.

You are only allowed x2 paypal accounts if x1 is personal and the other x1 is business, if you have 2 of the same type you risk them both being limited.
You can use your personal account to accept friends/family payments but do not use your account to accept that option if you sell anything goods or services related.
If your friends send the funds to your account then its free to send f/f payments as long as they use their bank account or funds in their balance, if they use a card they will be charged a fee.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
