Relocation to another country

Hi everyone.

I relocated to another country almost 5 years ago and figured out that my account is bound to my previous country. According to the documentation, I can't just change the country to the new one, I have to close my account and create a new one. So I'm trying to close my account, but I can't (see the attachments). I have no pending transactions, no subscriptions, and no open cases.

I relocated from Russia to the Czech Republic in 2018.

Also make sure you don’t hold a balance too.

Hi. i have the same situation but i didn't close my account. i relocated from Ecuador to USA. i cannot change to USA. i want change it because my account is 15 years old.

please help me, how can i change my account to USA without closing it???

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum and thanks for posting!

I do understand your concern about closing your 15 year old account. As PayPal is country specific, you cannot change your account from one country to another country. As you have relocated to a different country, you have to close your old account and open a new account in the country you're currently living now. You can have two PayPal accounts, so long as only one is a business account if you maintain residences in two countries.
