You have a U.S account so are you in the U.S or another country?
Does your account have any limitations, have you checked the resolution centre?
Is there a close account option when you click on settings > left side of the page?
Do you have a positive or negative balance?
Do you have any ongoing subscriptions?
Click on the profile / settings tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments.''
Do you have any pending or ongoing transactions?
