Unwanted emails - how do I stop paypal from spamming me?

Found this topic in several archived posts, but never seem to find a solution. Is there one now?

I have everything unchecked as far as email notifications, yet I receive crap from paypal telling me I can get $15 off at Vineyard Vines or similar type offers. The only emails I should be receiving are those specifically related to my own transactions. How can I stop paypal from spamming me with garbage offers? Unfortunately, they send these from the same address (service at paypal) that they use to send transaction-related emails, so I can't block that address. There is no "unsubscribe" option, just a link to "Update your notification settings". My notification settings are already set to LEAVE ME ALONE.  Someone please tell me there is a way to stop this spam.  Thanks.

PayPal is the most horrible company in the world for this.  The only way I could get them to stop was to cancel my account.

Me too! I continue to receive promotional email from PayPal even though I have changed my preferences (unchecked all boxes) numerous times. For example, today I received an email titled "Confirmed – Steven [removed]! You’ve been selected to apply for PayPal Credit based on your PayPal history." When I return to the email settings, the top to boxes are always checked again. The email is from [removed] and the links go to PayPal.com (not to a phishing site). How can I stop PayPal from spamming me?!

Hello @leevmealoan, @JayBeezy123, and @Sachelis,

Welcome to the PayPal Community and thank you for the posts!

I'm sorry to hear you are all receiving email notifications even though you've adjusted your preferences to stop receiving them. To confirm if the emails are from PayPal, I recommend referring to our Help Center article: How do I spot and report a fake, fraudulent, spoof, or phishing emails? For further assistance investigating the emails, you can reach Customer Support by clicking 'Contact' at the bottom of any PayPal page. Support is also available if you send a DM to @AskPayPal on Twitter or a PM to facebook.com/PayPal

I hope this is resolved soon!
