Notification That Won't Go Away

A minor issue, to be sure, but it is very annoying. On my summary page, there is the usual "bell" notification symbol. Well, there's a "1" attached to it, indicating I have one message. But no matter how many times I click on that message, the "1" doesn't go away. I click on "messages," but it says I have no messages. I just want to get rid of that annoying "1," so I don't have to keep clicking on it to see if I really do have a message. I could miss something important. Does anyone know how i can get rid of this annoying problem?

When you click on it there are 2 options, notifications and messages, try clicking on the message one as well?

@kernowlass  Hey, thanks for that suggestion, but yea, i did already try that out. It always shows my Messages as a 0. And the notifications are already months old, and i cant remove them or mark them as read or seen. I can do literally nothing. It is just there, and does not go away no matter what i do. The only thing that could fix this is most likely the Customer support manually marking them as read or something like that. I was hoping, that some from support will see this Post too.
