Login Issues -- Not Receiving SMS

I just had problems logging in and could not find a way to contact paypal, because all methods of contacting needed to login, but I wanted to contact paypal because I can't login.

My email was ok, password was ok. I had activated two step verification and this is where I got stuck. I did not received SMS with number of 6 digits. Could not receive SMS for few days, even If I tried to login again and again. Used even two web browsers to try. I was receiving SMS before from paypal so they had my phone number.

Found paypal phone number today for my country. I called and was asked to authenticate myself with 6 digits number in English by answering machine. I can read in English and write in English, but it is hard to listen and even harder to talk. I also don't have such authentication number. Was ask for number two times with break between them. Only after them I was asked for some other methods to authenticate. I missed third message first time I called, because I did not think that for third time he will give me different message. Answering machine said all workers at service are busy and will call me back latter. After ending the call I tried to login again and I received SMS with 6 digits number right away. Was this a coincidence?

After few days of failed login I was able to login to paypal after a call to customer service even if I did not talked with human.

Now I turn off two step auth.

It looks like here is a lot of bugs in paypal now.

Trying to login and waiting to get SMS with 6 digits number here are link if you don't receive it. But link don't work at all.

For some reason can't get SMS with number to login.

After logging in paypal shows two phone numbers: mobile and home. And for some reason first number after country code in home phone number is 3, but it should be 6. Also paypal only have one phone number, because i have only one phone. But why shown home phone number is different from mobile number?

You have posted this 4 days ago and nobody from support mind to reply to this?? Thats interesting! Me too have problem to login today, didn't receiving sms and now seems I am blocked to even react a sms page, says "Sorry, we couldn’t confirm it’s you", what the hell is going on?? Can't reach anything since I simply can't login, even reset password reguire login. Your SMS simply is not working!!! I can't contact support by phone call, my english is not at that level to speak english. Support mails is no more in function. We need support!!! Shame if this get not resolved in a time!!!

This was my reply to someone else's very angry message. But his message was deleted and my message was moved into new thread.

 

I have solved my problem by calling help phone and authenticating myself with my credit card number. For some reason I was able to get SMS with code, after I registered my call. But this shows, problem is with paypal system and not my phone.

I read many messages with same problem and all messages who got reply from paypal was written like problem is with client and not paypal. But my experience show problem is with paypal.

I am deaf disabled so its against the Disability Access act not to provide a service equivalent to that offered to hearing users. I am having similar difficulties with an old phone listed as my step 2 verification, so cannot login, there is no way to get around this??? I just need to email or text Customer Service!

I did not think about this problem. But this is really big problem if paypal don't provide clients who can't hear with alternative help if client can't login.

 

I have tried many help methods but none worked if you are not logged in. The only one who worked was calling with phone. They have chat client, but you need to login to use it.

 

Long time ago I have seen recommendation to create new paypal account to contact paypal and recover your old account and delete new account.

 

Use Facebook account to contact paypal through Facebook.

 

But all of this is really annoying and may not even work.

I have recently set up a UK PayPal Business account for our charity but am currently in the USA with access only over Wi-Fi or a data-only phone eSIM. Consequently, I cannot receive SMS texts or phone calls. 3 times before leaving the UK I set up 2FA so I could continue to access my account while away. All 3 times, I proved my authentication app was working correctly by entering the correct code when setting up 2FA. However, each time I tried to log in, all subsequent 2FA codes were rejected regardless of which authentication app I used (all 3 apps gave the same codes), so I had to phone to get 2FA disabled. Interestingly, when phoning to request the 2FA be cancelled, I was asked for my 2FA code by the automated system, and I was successfully connected. I don’t know if that means the 2FA code was correct or I was connected despite it. I now have no access to my account. How can I log in with no access to texts or phone calls, and no 2FA set up or confidence that, if it was, it would work?

Hello, I can't log in to my website. I don't have the number registered on the site anymore, and as soon as I enter the password, it sends me an SMS or calls me. I couldn't find another method.
