My son is 16 and I would like to set up a PayPal account for him but he does not have a credit card. I do not want to use mine. He wants to use it for the sale of his items on Depop. Is it possible to have an account linked to his bank account ?

Paypal does not allow account holders under the age of 18.

PayPal asks for a birth date when you register so whilst you can make a PayPal account with false information the account will need to be verified to accept funds into your balance or lift any limits.

As they would be unable to verify the account it would be permanently locked for further use.
Minors can’t enter legal contracts so they may have no recourse to get any money in the account back until they were 18.

They would never be able to use that illegally opened underage account again but once 18.
Paypal may allow them to open a new account once 18 but that is not guaranteed as they would already broken the rules once.

So to sum it up, don't risk it !!!
