How to close a limited PayPal account when I still have current amount in it?

Hi, I have been using Paypal for 3 years and having few amount in this account.

I received and email notification since November 2022 about policy change of Paypal in Thailand, So I clicked the link and give more information about my national ID and the webpage ask me to link a valid bank account in Thailand which I tried to do so; I have many bank accounts and I tried to link few of them but system failed to link many times. After that, Paypal told me that my account is limited now because I can't fulfilled the requirement. My account is locked, cannot transfer money out, cannot send money to other people. So I contacted paypay to solve this problem but they told me there're no way to recovered my account status and I have to open a new account. So I want to know how I can manage a remaining amount in my account before I had to re-open a new one.

You have to link a valid bank account now to withdraw your money in order to close the PayPal account. You cannot close a account that has a balance. Ask PayPal for help to link a bank account to withdraw your money if the system is not letting you. Ask customer service to read question 4 of the PayPal Thailand Relaunch page: https://www.paypal.com/th/webapps/mpp/thailand-relaunch-faq?locale.x=en_TH 

It says you still have the capability to withdraw funds after 15 December, 2022: 

“If you don’t complete the required steps to transfer your account to new PayPal Thailand by 30 November, 2022 (up till 11.59 pm Thailand time), your account will not be eligible to be transferred to new PayPal Thailand. Furthermore, your account features will be limited and you will not be able to make or receive payments through PayPal after 15 December, 2022. You will only be able to withdraw any balance you have to your linked bank account.

Once your account has been limited, you will need to open a new PayPal account. Note, to open a new PayPal account with the same email address, your existing PayPal account will first need to be closed. You can learn how to close your account here.”

If you didn’t already have a valid bank account linked and they will not allow you to link new bank, then too bad so sad. Open a new PayPal account with new email address and start over. Money can always be made again. It is what it is.

I don’t know if your state government has a “Unclaimed property” department where entities forward unclaimed monies, land, or other unclaimed property that belong to you and you go to your government to claim it.
