I have an old Paypal account which is registered using a telephone number that is now defunct. I received two emails this morning relating to two transactions on the account which have not been authorised by me. I am unable to log in to the account, and the telephone number I used at the time is out of service. The two telephones I have access to use now are already associated with other PayPal accounts (mine and a family member).
I now have a situation where an old Paypal account has been hacked, being charged and I can't access it to close it down.
What do I do? And can someone also tell me why getting help through Paypal is so ridiculously difficult? A really poor customer experience.
If you go to the 'Help & Contact' icon on the PayPal website. Then if you click the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page. From here, if you click the 'Password and Account Access' option, then 'Login Problems'. On the next page, you will see a 'Call Us' option. You do not need to be logged in to use this feature.
