Account recovery

I transferred money to a friend's account. However, it turns out that he hasn't logged in for years.

He can't recover the account because it asks him to verify on an old mobile number he no longer uses.

Any ideas?

What does it say on the transaction in your paypal account?

Completed / pending / unclaimed etc?
