adding a bank account

everytime i try to add a bank account i get the following message
"The PayPal server is currently experiencing some difficulties. Please try again later or contact Customer Services"
this has been occuring since Friday.
I have contacted customer services, who keep sending me instructions on how to add a bank account - which in turn leads to me getting the same message again and again.
any ideas ?

phone customer services rather than emailing and they can view your account and see if there is a problem.
Click on the words "Contact us" in your paypal account summary > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).
When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent.
