Verifying Debit Card

Hi,
so I've had an issue recently in that, when trying to purchase my postage labels, I was told I couldn't. It turned out I didn't have the correct funds in my bank account (or my paypal account) but thought this would be solved if I put money in my bank. Unfortunately, this didn't work, and so I researched and found out about verifying your bank account. Now I have made purchases though my paypal, from my bank account previously, but thought I should verify and see if it works and fixes the problem. So I asked for a £1.00 deduction from my bank, and the money has left... sort of. In my over all bank balance (online) it shows the money has been taken. However, when looking at my statements, the money being taken out isn't recognised, and it only has my prior balance. I'm unsure what to do, as I retried and, again, the money was taken, but no code given. (To clarify, it was £1.00 taken, no weird £0.02 etc to make a code. I've also previously had a paypal code sent to me a couple of weeks ago, and it was placed next to the 'paypal' description.)
If anyone could help, I'm desperately trying to figure out the problem, and have an item I need to pay for to send. It's seriously stressing me out.
Thank you

In order to use a card thru your PayPal Account, it must be linked and confirmed. Once you successfully complete the process, you an use the card. Normally a small amount is charged to your card, can be between $1 and $2. Once you confirm the card, the amount is credited back to your PayPal Account Balance.
Below are the steps you need to take (from the FAQs):
When you add your credit or debit card to your account, you may be required to confirm it.
If you're adding a Maestro card, click here to find out how. For all other cards, see below.
To link your card:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Click Profile near the top of the page.
- Select My money.
- In the 'Debit and credit cards' section click Update.
- Click Link and Confirm My Card.
- Click Save and Continue.
When you click ‘Save and Continue’, we'll charge your card £1. This will 'link' your card. We'll refund the money into your PayPal account within 24 hours of you confirming your card.
Check your card statement within 2-3 working days and find the randomly generated four digit PayPal code beside, or near the £1 charge. The code will be printed next to the word 'PAYPAL'.
Once you have the code, you can then confirm your card by following the below steps:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Click Profile near the top of the page.
- Select My money.
- In the 'Debit and credit cards' section click Update.
- Click Enter PayPal Code.
- Enter your the code and click Confirm Card.
Should you need additional assistance, it would be best for you to contact customer support direct.

Thank you,
I have tries all this, my main issue is that the money for a verification code has been removed, but the code and withdrawal hasn't appeared on my online bank statement.
I wondered if this is normal, or if I'm the only one having this issue...
Thank you again, though.
