Paypal won't Recognise my debit card from Botswana.

"Send. Receive. Withdraw to a U.S. Bank Account or a card.

Send and receive payments in these countries. Withdraw from your PayPal account to a U.S. bank account. In addition, withdraw to a credit or debit card in countries marked with a (Cross)."

I am in Botswana. Botswana falls under this heading  (with a cross) in the international payment section.

I have 2 debit cards. I keep trying to link them and none of them are accepted. I try to change my billing address and nothing happens.

I read this:

Link a card to get Verified

It's easy to raise your PayPal account limits and get Verified - just link and confirm a debit or credit card.

And when I enter my information I get this:

This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer's customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card.

My card is not a credit card. Paypal can't seem to tell the difference yet it says enter a debit or credit card. Is there something I am missing?

Im from Botswana too, and have been using Paypal for over two years. Standard Chartered debit cards are easily linked to Paypal, though I have heard Bank ABC works too. FNB is a NO NO!

PayPal works with both debit and credits cards. But even though that is, whether you can link a debit card depends on your Bank. For example if you are with FNB Botswana, you can only link credit cards.
