I wonder whether any body else has the same problem that I have? I have a valid debit card with ample funds and no restrictions in any way from my bank. I use the card regularly in other auction houses and at other locations such as supermarkets etc throughout Europe including the UK, USA and France with no problem. I wish to use this card to add funds to my Paypal account but I am prevented by Paypal from adding funds to my account. This is clearly a nonsense. Repeated approaches to Customer Services are ignored as usual. Whilst I am sure all users are concerned about possible theft this seems to be farce when a debit card is rejected even though it is vaild.

Hi there duke_of_devon,
I'm sure it's very frustrating when your card is not able to be added to your PayPal account even though other institutions allow it to be added to their websites.
When you add a card to PayPal we try verify it against the details your card company has on file for you. If there are any mistakes then you may not be able to add the card.
So for example your address on file with your card company is:
123 Fake Street,
Fake Town,
Fakeville
United Kingdom,
If you were to enter the above address but did not use a capital S for street then you may have problems adding your card. The address has to match 100% for us to add it to your PayPal account.
