my balance

it says i have a balance. does that mean i have to pay that amount? and how do i do that if that is so? do i need to have that amount in  my bank account so paypal can take it out or what? im new at this. help would be deeply appreceiated

No, it just the funds you have in PayPal Account, the $ amount you see is referred to as your Account Balance.

My account indicated that I had a 9.88 in it as a credit - I just purchased something for 21.00. Should that $9.88 come off of that 21.00 purchase leaving my toal charge 11.12. from my pay pal account?

I just to PayPal after a few years, and it says my balance is $10.00. It's the same account I had years ago, but just re-activated. So, this is a credit?

Okay can someone please clarify whether or not the balance showing my account is money sitting there that I can have transferred into my bank account or if it is a balance I have just in PayPal that I can spend using PayPal.

I am waiting for an answer to your question, too.  I have been all over "Help" and found nothing.  This should be an FAQ.  It looks as if everybody should have been wondering where this balance amount comes from and what it means.

I'm wondering the same thing.I haven't used paypal in over a year and its saying I have a balance of 50 dollars. I purchased something and the amount went down.So i'm wondering if its going to come out of my bank account to.
