Same here.  We used to be able to pay by e check or by instant transfer.  E check is no longer an option.  How do I rectify that?

Actually, I'm running into just the opposite.

My primary method has changed to e-Check and it will NOT let me do instant transfers any more.  I've been a PP user for YEARS ... long long before they were gobbled up by eBay and I've been using instant transfers all this time.  Suddenly I get switched to e-checks which just delays the entire payment process.

Based on others' comments, it seems like a "scam" so that PayPal can transfer the funds out right away, gain interest for a few days, then send to the seller.  I must say, it sure feels like one.

edited to remove an innocuous word that got bleeped.

Replying to my own as a FYI to anyone else who runs into the same thing I did.

What I found out is that if you have no (or expired) credit cards on your account, PayPal only allows e-checks from your bank account ... even when that bank account is used all the time for instant transfers.

I got rid of my credit cards and didn't think it would affect anything since in the entire time I have used PayPal (YEARS), I have never - ever - needed a backup source.  So having an invalid backup source didn't seem to be an issue.

Turns out now that it is - now I can only use e-checks and take 10 days to pay instead of 2 ..... even though it is still coming from the EXACT SAME BANK ACCOUNT.

No ... I am not happy.  But for anyone else who runs into this - this is why it is happening.
