Is this a new Paypal policy?!? Items must be shipped before money will be credited into account??

So, i just sold a laptop for $740 including shipping. Buyer told me he paid for the item through paypal...but I havent received any money in my account. He said that I would need to ship the item first and provide paypal with tracking number and then money will be credited to my paypal account. Is this a new policy or is he trying to trick me???

I just want to make sure. I don't want to risk shipping the item and then losing all my money.

Hi asiangal1000,

If the payment was sent to the correct email address then the transaction will show up in your PayPal account History log even if it is pending or on hold.

If you do not see the transaction then either the sender did not complete the transaction or it was sent to an email address that is not registered to your PayPal account.

Sorry, but that's a scam.

I'll bet he wants the item shipped to Nigeria or Burkina Faso.

Do NOT send the laptop - there is NO money in Paypal, all you got was a fake email.

If you used a link in the email to sign into your Paypal account, change the passwords on your Paypal and ebay accounts RIGHT NOW, then run several anti-spyware programs and change the passwords again - you may be infected with a keylogger spyware.
