IPN message stuck as Retrying?

There is something wrong with our IPN.  We have several transactions in which Paypal the message is in Retrying Status, and they seem to be stuck there.  In the last week alone we now have six transactions in Retrying status.  However, we also have several successful transactions, which is confusing because we do not know whether the problem is with Paypal or with our server.

 

Has anyone encountered this issue?  How can we fix?
