How to get data on abandoned purchases

Hi,

I'm new to this whole paypal system. I have just set up my web shop with Paypal standard and Paypals shopping cart, and everything seems to be working ok. However, I'm interested in finding out how many customers actually abandon the shopping cart.  Are these figure available on Paypal or do I have to install the Instant Payment notification - if so is there a idiots guide to doing it as, the guide on paypal makes no sense to me!

This is an excellent question; and it's vital to show if there is a hiccup in the system or in our shipping rates. I also am getting lots of traffic to our site, but can't quite figure out where we're losing customers, If they're placing items in the shopping cart and not completing the transaction then we might have a flag in the details.
