How do I get money back that was sent to the wrong (and unconfirmed) bank account?

I just started using PayPal. I sold something on eBay and received like $30 and it was sent to my PayPal account. I wanted to withdraw the money and put it into my bank account, so I did that and it needed me to link a bank account and confirm it. Well I couldn't find my check book but I have a check book that I first received when I got my card, so I used the routing/account numbers from that, thinking it was the same. Apparently it was not.. I removed the bank account, and obviously I never confirmed it.

The problem is the money was still sent there. I correctly added my actual account number, and am waiting for the random deposits to confirm the account. How am I supposed to get my money back? I mean why would they send it to the bank account if I never confirmed it?

I'm sorry that it's not a response to your question. BUT I'M HAVING THE EXACT PROBLEM AS WELL.

I wrote down a wrong account number ( I actually wrote down a right one, but I wrote for more numbers that's followed by my account number. so stupid)

Were you able to solve the problem. I'm so afraid of where the money went.
