HELP UNAUTHORIZED PAYMENT

I havent made anything to sell in a long time which was why i made my acct. Recently i have begun to use my paypal after months of nothing. and today i logged in to check status on something when i see a payment i never authorized. it was made yesterday the 14th and i was no where near a computer at all. i tried making a dispute but it says i cant do it until it clears. i have no money in there and so afraid of the fees involved and how long it will take to be solved.

any help? how did this happen? and why now after i barely only started using it again

It sounds like your account may have been hijacked.  Perhaps you clicked on a link in an email that you thought was from Paypal.

Change your Paypal password, then run some anti-spyware programs (in case you picked up a keylogger), then change your password AGAIN.

If you have ebay accounts or bank accounts, change their passwords as well.  Twice, as noted above.

Then phone Paypal about the charge - their number is in the "Contact Us" link in your paypal account.
