Ebay site on one of my computers doesn't look right.

On one of my 2 computers, when I go to ebay.com, the coding is different.  It doesn't look  right but I can still go to all my 'My ebay' things. Except 'Paypal' account. When I click on that it goes to a site called 'Mediaplex'. It says it's a division of value check. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Have you perhaps clicked on something that put you on a different ebay site?  There are 30-40 of them.

In Canada, we're always getting lost souls from the US that don't understand how they got on the site.

I have no idea about the Mediaplex thingy.

Definately, if it doesn't look right then it probably isn't. I was stupid around last Thanksgiving on this issue. I had totalled out my car 3 weeks earlier and was ready to buy a new one. Not really thinking about buying it online, I out of curiosity was looking on Craig'slist to see some prices. Well, don't you know I came accross what seemed like the sweetest deal and I had to inquire. I have regretted it every since. To make a long story short and keep alot of how STUPID I was at a minimum, I will try to explain what happened to me. I was redirected from craig'slist to e-Bay  by this guy who had listed this truck. I simply clicked on the link from craig'slist and was taken to what I thought was a listing through e-Bay. After 5 days of back and forth talking with him I sent him the money. I never saw the truck or heard from the guy again. After going back and reviewing everything, I determined this guy had created a fake e-Bay account and I was the sucker who fell for it. I hope this help you.  There are signs. The big one is if your stuff shows up on the MY e-Bay tab.

It's quite possible that, in addition to being directed to this other website, you also downloaded a keylogger program.

I would run several anti-spyware programs, just to be safe ( I've found that the free Malware anti-spyware program is very good for this (you can google the name for the download site)).

Then you should clean your cache and dump your cookies ( ccleaner is a good program for this, also free) and change all your passwords.

There HAS been a minor site re-desin on ebay.com and .ca - they've changed the buttons on the top and eliminated the Buy button, but your computer may have other problems from this earlier scam attempt.
