Debit Card is already in use?

So, I never really used a paypal account. I just skipped by it and did my transactions.

Well now,  I need to log in to use my debit card since it is already in use.  I log in, and go to do it, but it is still saying it is in use with a different account!  Did I get hacked?

Possibly.

Or maybe someone at the bank messed up.

Or maybe the wife or kids or a friend "borrowed" the card to buy something and "forgot" to tell you.

In any case, it's time for a new debit card - see your bank.

It's also possible that you're a victim of "pin theft" - perhaps someone double-swiped the card and recorded your pin number.

Check your bank account carefully for other "mystery" payments.
