Can't get checking account verified...

I'm trying to get verified on PayPal via my checking account.  When I enroll the checking account, an error message comes up saying the checking account is already in use by another PayPal member.  That is correct, that is my wife who also has her own paypal account.  Our checking acount is a joint checking account and it's the only checking account we have.  What do I do?

  I signed my husband up using his Visa Check Card, it still comes out of our checking account but PayPal sees it as a credit card.  The only problem I ever had was getting a refund back into our checking account, I finally figured out that I had to make a payment from him to me, then transfer the money back to checking from my PayPal account.  Hope that helps...
