Can't confirm new email address for PayPal account

I went through all the steps to add a new email address to my PayPal account, and received an email saying the new address has been added. However, when I enter the account it says the new address is unconfirmed. What went wrong?

There should be a link that you click to confirm the new email address, I think.
If not, check your spam files - it may have been sent there.

Thank you, but I've already done that several times. The new email address is not mine. Consequently, the confirmation email goes to another account user, and he is the one who has to confirm the new address. However, when he logs into the account, he receives a message that he doesn't have the rights to do that, although I've given him the maximum rights. Maybe I should contact PayPal about this?

Well, that's the problem - you cannot transfer a Paypal account.
It's absolutely forbidden.

What part of , "The new email address is not mine." did you NOT understand?
You can add email address, but only if they belong to you.
Paypal can tell the difference - you can't do an end-run around the rules, as you are trying to do.

The problem has been resolved. I contacted PayPal directly. They were very polite and helpful.
