Forty-six days ago some kid barely over 18 tried to scam me by claiming a $600 item I sold him wasn't NEW it was not only USED but broken. He smugly sent me an email demanding I send him another brand new item or give him a prompt full refund. I got the impression that he had done this before.
I told him if he went through with his scam (sending a box of trash or empty box is what I assumed he was going to do) I would contact police/mail fraud/eBay/my lawyer/and paypal and I was sure it would end badly for him.
I guess it scared the pants off him. He backed down and the 45 day paypal limit has passed. Am I safe from a forced refund to this ....buyer? (I wanted to use another word but those words are not allowed here).

Yes, unless he does a chargeback on his credit card.
But it sounds like you got through to him.
