Well I was obviously scammed. I bought a supercharger for $1800. about a week after i did the seller stopped responding. Then I saw it for sale on another forum. The seller used the same photobucket account to host the pictures (whisper129). I researched and found out he has scammed quite a few people over bmw parts. I found his phone number and called him, told him everything that i knew about him. He was shocked and all he said was "I dont have no supercharger" then that same phrase with a swear word at the end. It is now obvious that he created a dummy paypal account for this transaction under the name drew griffin (its some tv repoerter or something in the town hes from).
I just filed a dispute, will I be able to get my money back or is the money long gone?

Will you get your money back...it depends.
Was this an ebay purchase, it so you should be refunded under the Paypal Buyer protection plan, even if the seller cleaned out their paypal account.
You have up to 45 days from the original payment date to file a paypal claim. Once a clain is filed you have an addition 20 days to escalate it to a Dispute. if you don't escalate it , it will time-out in favor of the seller.
Since the seller his of no help, I would escalate it to a paypal claim, right after filing the dispute.
Now if this was not an ebay purchase, you will only get back the mopney still in that sellers paypal account.
Also if the Paypal payment was funded with a credit or branded debit card you can file a chargeback if Paypal is not able to recover the funds from the seller.
Don't let the deadline to file pass

You should also file a police report with that "sellers" jurisdiction, or woth your PD, then can then contact the sellers PD. $1,800.00 is a lot of money and the PD should get involved.
Make sure you give them all the info you have on the seller, and the other sites he sells on.
