4th year selling tickets....what exactly is the new rules regarding payPal sellers protection

Never had a problem selling tickets using PayPal for payment till last year. Seems they changed what had to be done on my end, so that I was guaranteed payment.

I realize I am **bleep**ed if I email the tickets to my buyer ( My season ticket accounts let me do that), but If I am mailing them, is delivery confirmation not enough now? Do I have to signed delivery signatures? Does the amount of the purchase make a difference? Most of my sales are in the $250 to $700 range. Do different rules apply as to the amount?

Just trying to figure out exactly what it takes to comply with Paypals rules. Or if I just need to overnight fedex everything with a signed signature.

Thanks,

To qualify for PayPal's Seller Protection Policy, you will need signature confirmation of delivery for payments which are $250.00 or greater. Go here...

to read the complete PayPal Seller Protection Policy requirements.

Thanks for the info.

From what I can tell now, when overnight is not needed, it looks like USPS Priorty mail flate rate envelopeis still $4.90, and with signature confirmation, another $1.95 for a total of  $6.85 if done online. Is this the cheapest way still to get signature confirmation and tracking in a 2-3 day delivery time for a flat envelope?

What about the cheapest shipping for flat envelopes with signature confirmation, and tracking for overnight shipping?

I'd say that the Priority with signature confirmation is sufficient.

You don't need to get tracking ( you'd have to ship by courier for that now), but you'll have to either ship the items at the front counter of the post Office to get them scanned on mailing or use an online SCAN form (which you can get through stamps.com.

USPS is not routinely scanning parcels when you drop them off at the post office any more.

I should add that the above is only true for domestic shipments.

Out-of-country will require courier shipment, since USPS doesn't provide a signature service anymore (their Global Express is actually a Fedex service)

Thanks for all the info.

But doiesnt the protection policy require tracking also? I know it comes free with flat rate $4.90 flate envelope done thru usps.com......I assume it will be included with same $4.90 + extra for signature confirmation ??

No, tracking is a misnomer.

As long as you have Delivery confirmation, you're okay (if the item is under $250, cost plus shipping).

If you're shipping from Canada, then Canada post offers tracking, which is the equivalent of DC in the USA.

I think signature confirmation is an extra $1.75, but don't quote me on that.  Ask at the Post office.

And you have to purchase Delivery confirmation separately as well - I think it's an extra 65 cents for Priority Mail, cheaper if purchased online.
