Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help. I recently sold one of the kids old computers (PS3) there was loads of games, a remote and 2 controllers. I sold the item for £70 and the buyer seemed really happy with the deal. I told them I will only shipped signed for and traceable. They said that was fine they owned their own business and will send me a prepaid label as they have an account with Royal Mail, I agreed as long as it was signed for etc. They sent me a Royal Mail label signed for but for a letter size (cost £2.35) I told them when packaged the item weighed 5.5kg so the label was no good. I told them I could send via courier signed for etc for £7.50. They insisted I sent via the label they sent and paid the extra and they would reimburse the extra postage. Royal Mail wanted £15 to send the item so I told the buyer I can send it through Royal Mail but they will have to pay the postage costs first. In the end they decided to use the courier. I sent the item for next day delivery forwarded the tracking details. The next day I received an email to say the item was delivered at 10.35am. A week later the buyer messaged me saying they still haven't received the item or tracking details. I sent them all the proof that it was delivered and signed for. I got him to confirm his address, which was correct. So I told him I would look in to it. I contacted the courier and they got hold of the delivery driver and sent over the proof and confirmed it was delivered to the address and not to a neighbour. They sent over the signiture and address of where it was delivered. I sent this to the buyer who said he hasn't received it maybe the person signed for it himself and kept it! We was backwards and forwards I told the buyer I will block the console and report it to the police as it's theft. I heard nothing after that message. 2 months later he opens a claim with PayPal saying item is not as described I have sent him a non branded item and he wants to return it for a full refund! No description of the item I supposedly sent! I am really shocked as his told me he never received anything and I have been chasing the courier but his told PayPal the item is not as described. I have read loads online and this does seem to be a common thing and the buyer always seems to win. I have sent PayPal all the tracking, proof of delivery, messages between us and the courier company. After reading all the horror stories I'm just wondering what chance do I have of winning? I've never had this before and I have sold loads of items before. But this has really put me off of sending items. My account is in negative arrears now and I don't know how long it takes PayPal to investigate. I did call them but didn't really get any help or advice. Any tips or advice would be very much appreciated.
