I sold an item on eBay for £53.99 the guy has opened a case because he says he has yet to receieve the item.
Shortly afterwards, I sold another item on eBay for £70.00.
There was only £16.01 in my PayPal account, I can only assume this is because there is a case open on eBay for £53.99
Is this right? And if so, will I be given back the £53.99 when the case has been sorted?
Thanks in advance.

Yes once a dispute has been escalated to a claim paypal will hold the funds.
How long ago did you send the item?
Royal mail do not consider an item lost until 15 days have passed.
However in the event of a dispute the onus is on the seller to provide tracking info to prove delivery of the item to the buyer.
So if the buyer does not get the item you may well have to refund.
For an item over £30 its best to send recorded or registered. For under £30 i normally risk it and get a COP and then if it doesn't turn up i refund the buyer and then try and claim off R.M.
If the buyer closes the dispute if the item turns up your funds will be released.
