Hi, I've been looking at a laptop that has been advertised. as i cannot collect I asked if I could make payment via paypal. My issue is that the paypal account I am paying to is the seller's sister in law. so if i make payment and something goes wrong for example I do not receive the item, am I still protected under paypal buyer protection.

also how do I go about describing the item so am still protected if I dont recieve what has been described.

Thank you

Hi PP5,

Thank you for contacting the PayPal Community Forum and welcome as a new member!

When sending money to another person for an item please select the payment option "Goods/Services", this will ensure you are covered under the Buyer Protection Policy. It will allow you to write in a note for the transaction details and you can put down the description of the item you are purchasing.

For more information on the PayPal Buyer Protection Policy please review this link - https://goo.gl/ljeUiS.

If there is an issue with the item when it is received or you do not receive the item you can open a claim through the Resolution Centre of your PayPal Account.
