Sending money to the wrong email address!

I have recently tried to purchase an expensive item and sent money to the wrong email address! To save this coming out of my account I removed the funds from my bank account and cancelled the payment. The money was still taken out of my account and it says my refund is pending?

Is this normal? Will I get my money back?

You have probably already got the money back by now. When your bank account is used as a funding source there are few thinks you need to know. When the payment is initiated wend the money immediately using PayPal funds, at this point we send a request to you bank for that amount. These requests cannot be stopped by PayPal. The funding method takes a few days to leave your bank, but also another few days to reach PayPal. So, when you cancelled the transaction the funding process did not stop. This is why it appeared pending, basically waiting for the funding process to complete.
