Payment via email

Someone has requested that I pay them via Paypal and has given me their email address. I can't find a way to do this - I must be missing something really simple, can you tell me what it is?

Click on send money in your paypal account > enter their email address > put in the amount > select currency from the drop down box and then send.

HOWEVER be careful, lots of scams about. Don't be tempted to send a payment using the friends / family option if you are paying for goods.

Funny thing is, it now turns out the email address is defunct and so I have to pay by bank transfer
