Payment From Ebay Not Reached My Account

Today I sold my first item on Ebay. I've only ever bought stuff before. My buyer has paid via PayPal, but payment hasn't reached my account. Showing on the item on my ebay page, it says payment instigated on september 18th and is being processed through paypal. Why hasn't the money come straight into my account?

Go and find the transaction in your “my ebay” > click to the right where it says sell similar > don't fill in anything just scroll down to the payments section > look in the paypal box > is the email addy in there correct with no spelling mistakes? If so then it would have been wrong on your finished auctions so come back for more advice.

I know what I've done.Woman Embarassed I have used an old email address for which I no longer have access to. I changed internet provider and could no longer get onto that email address afterwards. My buyers payment has been sent to that email, which is not connected to my paypal account I'm now using. What do I do now? Thanks in advance

Firstly can you add that email addy to your paypal account, as you can have up to 8 on the one account.
If you can add and verify it then the payments should come through.

If not then you need to contact your buyers and ask them to see what it says in there paypal accounts either:

1. Unclaimed with a cancel option.
2. Unclaimed.
3 Completed.

If its:
Unclaimed with a cancel option.

Then ask them to cancel the payment but tell them that it will take a few days to go back to their funding source if they funded their original payment with a debit or credit card. Then get them to use the "send money" > Goods option and pay to your email address. Tell them DO NOT use the ebay option or it will direct them to ebay checkout and the same thing will happen.

Unclaimed.

If there is no cancel option then the buyer will get their money back automatically 30 days after paying if it remains unclaimed. If it changes to completed they need to come here for advice. You will need to sort out between you if you want to still go ahead with the sale or cancel it.

Completed.

If its completed then come back for more advice.

Then next time you list an item for sale change the email addy during the listing process and check everytime.

Also to help you sort things with your buyers you can pull their contact info if its an ebay transaction. Go to advanced search top of ebay pages > contact member left column > fill in the details and ebay will send you an email with their telephone number.

Hey,

This happened to me as well. I'm a new ebay seller too, I looked in to it and saw this in my account area on Ebay:

To make sure everything looks good with your selling account, your funds are pending in PayPal for up to 21 days, until it’s been 90 days since your first successful sale, your seller level is Above Standard or higher, and you’ve had at least 25 selling transactions worth a combined £165. We do this to help ensure that eBay is a safe and trusted place to buy.

How to get your funds faster:

1. Post quickly once your buyer pays
2. Add tracking details for the package on eBay
3. Respond quickly to the buyer to resolve any issues

This has nothing to do with the new seller hold.

The OP has made a mistake with the email address on his auction and so the funds DO NOT SHOW on his paypal account unlike yours that would be pending.

I've added that email address to my account, but to confirm it would mean an email going to that address which I can no longer access. Would it be worth me calling customer services tomorrow and explaining the situation?? Would they be able to transfer the money from that email address to this? Thanks for your help
