Hi ,

I bought an item from a seller on facebook and he sent me the used and damaged item contrast to the description. Upon requesting refund, he agrees and ask me to return the item . I am ready to return the item but want him to pay P&Pcharges as its was his fault he cheated and sent me the damaged item. He is not agreeing and escalated the dispute to paypal by saying me cheater and that i am making things upto get the money. I mean seriously, i will do all this to get my own money from him? what willpaypal do now? I dont want to send back the item paying extra charges as it was not my fault. I want to know do you have any idea what paypal will decide or i have to pay for the p&P? Please suggest me what to do?

Thanks

Hi janitafshan,

Welcome to the community forum and thanks for posting.

I am sorry to hear that you are having such difficulty with your seller. When a Significantly Not as Described buyer claim is found in your favour, we ask you to return the item to the seller at your expense. With PayPal Buyer Protection, the full cost of the item, including the original postage you paid, is refunded.

As we decide the case in your favour based on the information you provided, and we ask you to return an item we have never seen or evaluated, we do not ask the seller to cover the return shipping costs. We can only ensure that you receive full refund for the original cost of the transaction when you have successfully returned the goods.

When returning the merchandise, we ask that you use a shipping method that can be tracked online. We need you to provide us with a tracking number that shows delivery of the item online, to confirm that the seller has received the item back. Once we have confirmed that the item has been returned, the refund is completed.

We do also have a programme at the moment using which you can claim back your return shipping cost. You will find more information here https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/refunded-returns .

I hope this answers your question.

Rachael
