It was to someone new to PayPal and not tech-savy. But the email address in PP is the same one he has used to ask me where the money is.
It is also a US dollars payment from my Sterling PP account.
It shows as sent not pending in my Summary page.
I asked him to look for emails from PayPal on the same date that it shows as sent, but he says he couldn't see any. Any ideas first to help him find the money?
If you sent dollars then i presume he is in the US?
If so then the email address he emailed you from may not be the email address he uses on paypal so you first need to check it is and then double check you did not make a typo when you sent the funds.

He told me the email address. He said "You can send the security deposit back by PayPal to me at XXXXXXX" and the email address is identical to the one he uses to communicate with me. I used cut and paste into PayPal. It is a good sign that PP seems to know his name from that email address.
