I then tried to transfer most of it to my bank account but that is pending, I just cant help but think this is a scam in some way the buyer in the USA he never asked very much about the item and the amount we are talking about is around £800. can any one either give me so tips or is there a way of checking this more before i have to send the item ?
I am just sore this is some sort of scam

You should have read up on seller protection and risk assessed your transaction before you sold it internationally.
Not much you can do now apart from refund or send the item and that has to be your choice.
However if your funds are pending IN your paypal account and paypal says ok to send then it 'could be' the new seller hold as per link below.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Hi @shaun007,
Appreciate your concern here, once you see the payment showing as 'Completed' in your PayPal account this sounds to be OK. Withdrawals can take up to 72 hrs to complete so it is not uncommon to show as 'Pending'. Please make sure you only send the item to the address provided to you in the transaction details section on PayPal to ensure you are covered under our Seller Protection Policy. Also, make sure this payment is marked as a payment for 'Goods/Services' and not a personal payment. You should find all of the information you need on our Seller Protection Policy Here.
Hope this helps,
Siobhán

Hi I also did as much research as I could I googled his Email address on that I found a phone number in the USA and called him just to make sure it was him ordering and him paying for what I was selling, I also made a short video of the machine he was buying showing it working the day it was picked up and shipped. even when the machine was sold as seen and no return, I just needed to cover my self.
but many thanks for your help
