Held money after payment

I have paid for an item via pay goods and services however the money has been held their end. He has marked it as dispatched which brings the time down from stupid like 2 weeks down to 7 days. If I was to have used royal mail I could have gotten it down to 3 days. Is there a way my end to un hold the money? Thanks

As your the buyer its not really your problem, the sooner the seller sends the item the sooner funds are released (as long as he sends it trackable and provides paypal with that tracking number).

The seller is supposed to send your item as soon as you paid, the 'new seller' hold is do with his account and nothing to do with you.

If its an Ebay transaction then normally funds are released when tracking shows the item as delivered + 3 days, if its paypal then its delivered + 7 days.

Thanks for the reply however I set up the courier (this is the way its done normally when buying and selling wheels) there isn't a tracking number as such just a tracking page (paisley freight). However he has marked them as dispatched. As u say its his problem however I am an honest person trying to find out if there anything I can do to get him his money sooner than 7 days?

There is nothing you can do to assist the seller in this situation. Payment holds are applicable for all new sellers or if an established seller changes there items. The payment holds are placed until the seller builds up a consistent history with PayPal.
