Customs charge

I've ordered a product from America but the post office have kept the product as there is a customs charge. As it happens the charge is over £30 and I'm not willing to pay this. If I don't collect the parcel will the item be returned to sender and will I receive a full refund?

Why buy it if you don't want to pay the customs charges to import goods to the UK?

And you want a full refund but are happy presumably for the poor seller to pay the postage for your item to be sent to you and the cost of wrapping it all up for you only for you to send it back again then are you?

They’re not a ‘poor seller’ they’re a massive company. I wasn’t aware there would be additional charges as the postage charge was £9.95. I certainly wasn’t expecting additional charges of over £30! I posted my question for advice, not some unhelpful smart **bleep**, passive aggressive retort!

You are responsible for importing items into your country and the costs involved, customs charges have nothing to do with the seller.

If you buy something abroad and then have to declare it at 'customs' at the airport and pay a fee then you don't expect the shop you bought it from to pay that fee do you?

Ignorance of customs charges should not be the sellers problem, its yours.

Stating FACTS is not agressive, you just did not like the fact that I felt you were being very unfair to the seller, big company or small seller makes no differnece.
