Phone number change

My original phone # was a land line which was okay for business transaction but now attempting personal transaction and even though I changed # to mobile on my profile- the old land line # keeps appearing on the "confirm who I am " page even though I've attempted to "change" on that page.  No one is available  At PayPal to assist--Chat box does not move or respond.  Please help.  My grandson has lost his job and has not received any assistance and I am trying to help.
