I was wondering if anyone has exerienced this: Last night, I received an email notifying me that several charges had been made on my Paypal account on July 3d (I had a balance on it, which was used on these charges) that I had not authorized or heard of, paying to "The Microsoft Corporation". These are several charges, specifically:
$4.99
$19.99
$49.99
$4.99
$19.99
I've already filed a fraud claim with the Resolution Center, but wanted to document here and also ask if anyone was having the same experience? The transaction details provide zero information aside from the fact that the charges were paid to the "Microsoft Corporation" and a long distance "customer service" contact number, **remove number**.

Forgot to come back and mention this right away but my dispute was successfully cleared up. I just had to wait out the 7 days that they give for "Other party to respond" and then I got my money back right away.

I dont understand how this is still happening. Its been going on for weeks the best I can tell. I mistakenly thought that my account had been compromised but after reading all of this I dont believe that it has. I honestly believe that PayPal has somehow been compromised.
If my account had been compromised they wouldnt have to deposit money from someone else's account in order to make the charge because I had money in my account, that tells me that it is PayPal because they would have been able to log in to my account to see the balance.
I dont understand how PayPal could not aknowledge that there is a problem, of course if they do it leads them wide open for legal action but seriously, doesnt ignorance leave them open too?

This just happened to me, as well.
I received a payment of $ 55.00 from someone I had never heard of. Almost immediately following that, a payment for $ 49.99 went out to "Microsoft Corporation".
There was a billing agreement, supposedly put into effect on 08/24/2011. I canceled that and have reported both transactions to PayPal.
I guess I'll be calling Customer Service when they're open!

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!! And after reading all of your guys posts....it's a shame that this is a ongoing problem that Pay Pal has not fixed?? You would think after all of the disputes from US victims....Pay Pal would NOT ALLOW any funds to be withdrawn to any MICROSOFT CORPORATION?? Whether the person has money or no money in their account! Why do I feel Pay Pal is involved in this? Either they are in it or they are just too dumb and don't care on how to fix the problem.
I also got two emails saying I got money sent to me... the first email saying I got money in the amount of $55.06 from gigistutu's and the second email saying I got money in the amount of $30.55 from gigitutu's. Then immediately the funds were reversed from my account (as if I never got the money) and gigitutu's placed a hold on both amounts. Then I get an email saying I authorized a payment to Microsoft Corporation in the amount of $49.99, then another email saying I authorized a payment to Microsoft Corporation in the amount of $19.99, then one more email saying I authorized a payment to Microsoft Corporation in the amount of $4.99 ...for a total of $74.97!!! In my case I didnt have any funds in my account so naturally my account is overdrawn!
I immediately changed my password, canceled any future authorized payments to Microsoft Corporation (never authorized such a thing in the first place), disputed all 3 transactions, and even emailed them since this happened on a Sunday evening so their offices are closed. I am going to call first thing and make Pay Pal resolve this!!! It's obvious that this is a total SCAM and Pay Pal hasnt done anything to stop it! Why can't they just freeze or NOT let any transactions with the name MICROSOFT CORPORATION go through?? And just tell people if they need to make a REAL payment to the REAL MICROSOFT CORPORATION legit company.....to just make a different method of payment!
Well, I guess I will be calling Pay Pal first thing tomorrow morning....GREAT!

I've been following these posts closely. I've had 3 fraudulent payments, but they are to iTunes, not Microsoft. PayPal seems to have a security vertification problem! I just submitted the claim for review, so I'm sure I won't hear back for many days!

PayPal did refund the money paid out to Microsoft, and did so within a couple days.
However, I have yet to hear from them on the money that was deposited to my account.

Same thing happened to me tonight. Two payments from a person and three payments to Microsoft Corporation. Rep. opened a dispute for the charges, said it would take 7-10 days to credit my account (ultimately going back onto my attached credit card). She also canceled the "billing agreement" I supposedly had with Microsoft. I also had my account suspended by PayPal yesterday, and earlier today changed my password, securtiy questions and submitted photo ID. Later a PayPal rep called to verify they recieved my information and that my account would be opened back up within a few minutes. When I asked how someone could have done this, the rep asked if I had anti-virus software that could check for malware that records my key strikes. (???) Our call was strangely cut off...
